Virtu Conservation Housekeeping Ltd is a London-based specialist conservation company providing collections care, conservation cleaning and preventive conservation services to museums, historic houses, heritage organisations and private collections across the UK.
Since 2012, our team of conservators and collections care technicians have worked alongside registrars, collections managers and conservation departments on the hands-on care of collections.
Our work includes condition reports and surveys, maintenance and incident related cleaning, collection inventories, packing, display case cleaning, preparing objects for exhibitions, and pre- and post-works cleaning of galleries, stores and historic interiors.
We also carry out in situ remedial conservation treatments, cleaning at height, and preventive conservation training.
More recently, we have been developing and using bespoke apps for condition reporting and collection surveys. These help us work more efficiently and give our clients accessible records, formatted to existing templates, and compatible with their collections management systems.
We work independently or within existing teams, tailoring every project to each site and collection.
Our clients include the V&A, the Royal Collection, the National Gallery, Historic Royal Palaces, the Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey and the National Trust.
