June 2009's news:
The draft Packing Standard for cultural goods has now been completed and released for public enquiry. This is an important document as it will act as the industry standard throughout Europe for the preparation and packing of cultural objects for transport. It is likely to be adopted by the main fine art transporters and will be used as the guarantee of high-quality, a measure of competence and could be used in a dispute.
If you would like to have your say on the Standard, there will be a meeting on 17th June at 2pm to find out more and to work through the document with our comments. These comments will then be fed back to Brussels.
Please let me know if you would like to attend as numbers will be limited freda.matassa@tiscali.co.uk
