How to be an effective networker & Getting to know you event

Museums Group is pleased to invite you to this skills sharing and networking event. London Museums Group (LMG) membership includes everybody working for and in museums in London. More information about LMG can be found on the MLA London website. The event is funded by Renaissance London through London Museums Hub and the Museum Development fund managed by MLA London and therefore we are able to offer this event for free.
This session is for 40-50 participants. This practical session is designed to help participants overcome fears and make us better and more effective networkers. The aim is to take the dread out of networking, and make it fun.
In the early evening there will be an opportunity to use these networking skills, with facilitated group activities, followed by drinks and canapés. This is a wonderful opportunity to use networking skills gained in the afternoon, meet colleagues from across the sector and network.
LMG is particularly keen to encourage attendance from national and hub museums as well as London’s independent and local authority museums to encourage closer working between the diverse range of museums in London. There will also be a chance to hear about the plans for the Hub funded National Regional Loans programme for 2009-2011 and find out how to get involved.
Participants can attend either one of the sessions or both. Please indicate which sessions you would like to attend when booking. Places are limited for the afternoon session, so if you would like to attend this session early booking is advised. Places on the afternoon session will also be limited to two per museum.
