The Yorkshire Museum: Object Loans, Research and Enquiry Service
Melanie Baldwin

The Yorkshire Museum is undergoing a complete refurbishment of its displays in 2009 and 2010 that will include closing the museum to the public for a period of nine months from November 1st 2009 until we reopen on Yorkshire Day August 1st 2010.

The museum's curatorial staff will be dedicated to this project from April 2009. This commitment to improving our public displays for our visitors will for a period of time preclude us from fulfilling certain services that the museum currently offers primarily object enquiries and loans.

The Yorkshire Museum will cease its object enquiry service from April 1st 2009. This cessation of service provision will also apply to new object research requests. All object research requests currently being dealt with will still be honoured.

This does not affect the work of the Portable Antiquities Scheme for North and East Yorkshire that is based in the Yorkshire Museum.

The museum will cease its object loan service as of immediate effect for new object loan requests. All object loan requests currently being dealt with will still be honoured.

All services will resume on 1st December 2010.
